UWE:festival is entering its sixth round!

From May 29th to 31st 2025, we will once again be showing student theatre productions from all over Europe. Beyond the boundaries of language or genre, the different stages of the Akademietheater will provide an artistic space for everything that excites and moves the next generation of theatre makers. With an extensive supporting program for all visitors and participants, UWE also aims to offer a platform for exchange and networking.
In this year's edition of the festival, we want to explore peripheral spaces in and through the theatre and shine a light on topics pushed to the margins of social and politicaldiscourse.
We strive to venture into the in-between, explore marginal zones and liminal spaces, and enter into unfamiliar waters.
In a world of increasing uncertainty and dwindling resources, UWE:festival is looking for theatrical forms for the future. Whether by rewriting familiar narratives or by exploring new modes of performative expression - the different festival entries show how theatre can venture into the unknown and conquer new spaces.
